The LYNCH ADVANCED guardrail system works in combination of tube and fitting scaffolds.

It’s installed and secured in place from the lower-level position, without the need of using podium steps which increases a safer working practice. 


The patented design of one fitting connected on top of the other allows for guardrails to be installed level over any required lengths and this can ONLY be achieved through the unique patented design.

HSE Law requires that employers and self -employed contractors assess the risk from work at height. The key priority and objective for scaffolders is to establish collective fall protection,  minimising the time exposed to fall risk and reliance upon personal fall protection equipment.

Increases Strength in Scaffold Structures

Guardrail are connected by coupler fittings not internal or external joints which is a weakness in scaffold failures.

The System

The LYNCH ADVANCED guardrail system is secured in position by tightening of the upright guardrail bottom fitting to the outside ledger.

Once tightened the guardrail is secured and the top guardrail fittings can be tightened when decking boards are in place and scaffolder as ascended safely on to the lift.

The unique connection of one fitting on top of the other also improves scaffolds structure as guardrails are attached together by coupler fittings and not internal or external fittings, which can be a weakness in scaffold structures failures.

The LYNCH Guardrail system is the safest type of guardrail, of all scaffold guardrails as there are no pro tuning bolts or holders which require scaffold pad covers, reduces timescale massively.

Guardrails can be folded in the collapsing position for transportation and manual handling and extended open with the insertion of clevis pin and r clip. Guardrails can be used to set scaffold bays correctly by opening guardrails and installing the clevis pin and r clip.


The guardrail upright standard then touches ground surface and tightened to first upright standard and then keep attaching guardrails/ add on.


  1. Guardrails transported or stored in the folded position, secured in the folded position with a releasing tie approx centre of guardrail.

  2. Manual Handling of guardrails Insure releasing tie is secure approx centre of guardrail before lifting Lift approx centre of guardrail.

  3. Guardrails manually passed up or down scaffold lifts in a vertical position by scaffolders, require a firm grip from one another before passing scaffolder release their grip on guardrail.

  4. Guardrails laid out in between the upright standards, and insure the guardrail fittings are on the top side position, fittings must face the standards ready to attach.

  5. Guardrail is in position to be opened. Remove the releasing tie and secure the releasing tie safely. Remove the clevis pin and r clip from the folded position hole. Lift the guardrail in the centre of top guardrail. Open the guardrail up an allow for the centre guardrail upright fitting to rest on decking boards. Line the open locking position holes and insert the clevis pin and secure with r clip.

  6. Guardrails is ready to be lifted into position, insure the guardrail fittings are open, lift the guardrail with two hands on the centre upright, with your spanner hand just above the fitting. Opposite hand below the bottom. guardrail. When lifting place the guardrail open fittings against the upright standards,  push the guardrail up until the guardrail upright fitting can be attached to ledger. Hold the guardrail firmly against the upright standards ,before releasing your spanner hand to tighten fitting. Only release your opposite hand when the fitting is secured tightly. Guardrail is secure in place. 

  7. Next guardrail bay section is ready to open up and exactly same procedure as 6.

  8. Dismantling of scaffolds you just reverse the erection instructions.

The Lynch advanced guardrail system has two different size bay sections, but also guardrails can be manufactured to certain measurements if clients require upon request.

  • 1.815 mm weight 10.5kg (inside to inside tube measurements) 

  • 1.200mm weight 8.8kg (inside to inside tube measurements)
